What Pete Says

Has there ever been a better time to go backyard camping? As absurd as it sounds, planning and carrying out a backyard camping experience is an adventure your family will remember always. Planning your camping trip will give you and your family something to look forward to and everyone can help with making this family staycation an adventure to be remembered. To ready yourself for a wild adventure in your own backyard plan out what gear is needed, the menu and get the groceries, and activities to keep everyone entertained.

Charge up your lanterns, put new batteries in flashlights, pitch a tent if you have one, or lay out a tarp if you want to sleep under the stars. Get your sleeping bags, or lots of cozy blankets to keep you warm. And by all means- TURN OFF THE SPRINKLERS! Gather up all your gear, food in coolers, plates and utensils in storage bins, and your grill or cook stove fueled up to create delicious meals. Get everything together to minimize trips into the house. Enjoy your outdoor time birdwatching, bug catching, napping, playing games. Embrace the time to slow down and notice your surroundings.

As daylight fades away, a campfire sets the mood for a perfect ending to your day. Consider getting a fire pit, fueled by propane or wood that will be enjoyed all year long. Sitting around a campfire, roasting marshmallows, telling spooky stories will have you forgetting you are steps away from your back door.
